Hulk Hogan was a guest on the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show this morning and revealed that his career with WWE could be over.

Hogan said that the Hulk Hogan character is done with WWE and the Mr. America character is now on hiatus. Hogan went as far to say that he really felt that Mr. America was done with WWE as well.

He blamed not wanting to come back to work for the company on the creative direction of it. Bubba asked him if Triple H’s backstage power had to do anything with Hogan’s feelings, however, Hogan stayed away from using that reason.

He went on to say that he would now like to go back to Japan and work some matches there.

hogan should just give it up. i mean the hulk in his day was the man but come on....mr america? what a lame fucking gimmick! they were just trying to capitalize on the general feeling of the public in wartime just like they did when they put him up against seargent slaughter way back in wrestlemania 7 when it was slaughter and the iron sheik against hogan. its a lame gimmick and he should just retire rather than embarass himself!

This is true, but, I think that Vince feels that Hogan is a big part of the ratings deal for Smackdown... Which is most likely true.

Among other reasons, Hulk Hogan has been telling friends that Vince McMahon has lost touch with the fans.

Hulk Hogan was a guest on the Bubba The Love Sponge radio show again today to talk about Vince McMahon. Hogan came on the show to the Mr. America theme and he told Bubba to turn it off and that he is finished with WWE and that he will be working in Japan.

Hogan started the rumor back up that he is interested in starting his own company. Bubba brought up the issue with Triple H being too much of an influence in WWE as well as the low WrestleMania payoff. However, Hogan would not get into any details other than saying that he will make more working Japan than he did in his WrestleMania payoff.

He said that Vince McMahon didn’t understand the whole Hulkamania concept, but he chose to leave on his own terms. Hogan commented that he left on good terms and could always make a return down the road. Bubba continued to talk about Triple H and Hogan said that Vince was partially behind Triple H, but he is more interested in doing what he thinks is best for the business.

Obviously, the Mr. America vs. Vince McMahon in a mask vs. hair match will no longer take place at WWE Vengeance due to Hogan’s recent departure from the company. Before he left WWE, Hogan told Vince that he would work a series of house show dates to improve business but instead wanted more creative control over his character. That of course did not happen and Hogan is gone.

The feeling backstage in WWE amongst many was that Hulk Hogan was a shrewd businessman. There have been stories of the conversations that Hogan had with Vince backstage about Vince suggesting storylines and Hogan saying that they needed to talk money first.

MeGaTrOn[TG]

Hogan actually offered to work WWE house shows, before he quit. As of right now, not too many people are sad to see him gone because he was a shrewd businessman and his whole reason for being upset (not pushed hard enough) was pretty much a slap-in-the-face to other guys on the card, even if it did make business sense.

There are rumors going around that Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart have been trying to target investors to start up their own new wrestling company, XWF. Apparently, the top person that they are looking to for funding is Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cubin.

An idea thought of by Hart is to have XWF hire many Spanish wrestlers to wrestle in a lucha style with shows being held in the Southwest United States.

Well, if they pull off this XWF federation, at least you will know where Juvi Gurrera, La Parka, Psycosis, and Villiano's 1 thru 8,675,083 are going! :D

Hulk Hogan called in to the Bubba The Love Sponge show this morning. They talked about his future, Vengeance as well as a little small talk. Bubba asked Hogan if he watched Vengeance and he replied no. He said he doesn't need to since he doesn't work there anymore.

He says he plans on going to Japan in October or November to work some shows. He said he really likes the Japanese fans and can't wait to get in the ring over there.

Bubba then asked if Hogan would be apart of WMXX in New York. Hogan said he would love to, but it's really "up to Vince".

Overall, a quick call, but Hogan sounded very down on WWE. He said his wife says he should 'semi-retire. They then went into some non-wrestling related items. Apparently Hogan has heat with the Bucs' Warren Sapp. He said Sapp wouldn't sign autographs for his kids.

Since his departure from WWE, Hulk Hogan has spent some time for himself. Hogan has been vacationing in Hawaii, spending the majority of his time at Waikiki Beach. Today’s Honolulu Advertiser reported that Hogan urged his daughter Brooke to sing "I Feel Good" and "I Will Survive" while they were attending a "Magic of Polynesia" show last week. The paper also said that Brooke Bollea could be the next Britney Spears.

Word has it that Hulk Hogan was paid about $300,000 for his match with Vince McMahon at WMXIX. This is the same as the other main eventers (Angle, HHH, Lesnar, etc) made for the show.

There is a lot of heat on Hogan for being so upset with the pay, when he made what all the other top wrestlers made. Additionally, while he is used to getting checks of near a million dollars for WrestleMania performances, it still seems a little ridiculous that he's remarking he thought his check was the "limo driver's salary". LOL

Hulk Hogan celebrated his 50th birthday yesterday. Many televisions shows recognized the icon’s birthday. ESPN’s Pardon The Interruption talked about how he revolutionized the wrestling industry.

Hulk Hogan was been pulled from the upcoming “SmackDown: Here Comes the Pain” videogame for PlayStation 2. The Mr. America character was also going to be included on the game as a hidden character, however, that was pulled as well. The GameCube and XBox games will still include Hogan because they were packaged earlier.

After all the rumors and speculation, Hulk Hogan has officially signed a deal to appear on an NWA:TNA PPV.

Hogan is currently slated for the 11/30 PPV, where he'll be taking on Jeff Jarrett, in what's sure to be their biggest main-event of all time.

From all indications, Hogan did not sign a long-term deal, in fact, it's not even known if it was just a one-show deal, or he will work a few more shows (in a deal similar to what Sting has).

As an update to the Hogan/TNA situation, it is expected that Hogan will, at the very least, tape some promos to air on the weekly PPVs in November, building up to his match on a special (and more expensive) Sunday PPV, which will air on 11/30. Right now, it is not known if a written contract has been signed, or if TNA is just going on a verbal deal - but Hogan is set for that date, regardless.

There is some talk that TNA may hold off using Hogan until after WrestleMania XX, while hoping Hogan can get picked up by WWE for the big night. TNA would then use the fuel from Hogan's WWE appearance for their own benefit, by booking him for their big PPV while he's still hot, coming off WM XX.

MeGaTrOn[TG]
11-26-2003, 03:06 PM
Vince McMahon is still open to the idea of using Hulk Hogan at the upcoming WrestleMania XX. With Hogan's current relationship with NWA-TNA, McMahon doesn't have a problem with Hogan working their events before WM XX, but he is strictly against him working their Feb PPV since it wouldn't look good having Hogan working for his rival a month before WM XX.

MeGaTrOn[TG]

Hulk Hogan did inform NWA-TNA about his knee. He told them that he would not be able to work any dates, including commitments in Japan, until the middle of next year. When TNA was informed of this, they decided to push back their huge three hour PPV event. TNA angles for the next few months are going to built around a Jeff Jarrett-Hulk Hogan feud for the major PPV.

Hogan is said to be taking the situation pretty hard as he was looking forward to working next year outside the WWE.

Hogan would not be able to 'wrestle' at WrestleMania XX, but perhaps an appearance is more likely. WWE sources right now don't think we'll see Hogan at WMXX but with Hogan it's a daily game.

Jimmy Hart is expected to stay with TNA despite Hogan not being ready until the middle of 2004.

Many are questioning whether Hulk Hogan's knee is as bad as he is telling everyone. If his reports are 100% factual, then it is highly unlikely that Hogan will wrestle at WrestleMania XX. This does not rule out an appearance, however, and many say that he definitely wants to be a part of the PPV in some sort of on-air capacity. No word yet on Vince McMahon's thoughts on the matter.

Although Vince McMahon has gone on record as saying Hulk Hogan would never return to WWE again, there are many people within the company who feel Hogan will be back in WWE again; possibly very soon.

There are a lot of people who are questioning Hogan's future seeing as he signed a deal; to work with NWA TNA. A lot of WWE people seem to think that Hogan had the surgery when he did just to buy himself time to possibly get a spot on the WrestleMania XX card, but that is just speculation at this point.

At the moment, talk of Hulk Hogan signing with NWA:TNA has died down considerably. It is the general consensus in the NWA:TNA offices that Hulk Hogan has his heart set on appearing at WrestleMania XX and the chances of him working for NWA:TNA before the event are extremely slim to none, however, several members of management still hope that Hogan will work with the company following the event. Although, most are under the impression that Hogan was simply using NWA:TNA to gain leverage to use with Vince McMahon regarding WrestleMania XX negotiations.

From today’s edition of the New York Daily News:

Here’s a dad you don’t want to see when you pick up his daughter for a date: Hulk Hogan.

Even though the 54-year-old ’80s flashback is hobbling around on crutches, the result of a wrestling injury he suffered on a tour of Japan, he’s been scaring off any and all suitors for his only daughter, 15-year-old Brooke.

The blond, 5-foot-10 ninth-grader is an aspiring pop singer managed by Backstreet Boys impresario Lou Pearlman - and recently the limping Hulk chaperoned his daughter to Orlando for a showcase performance.

“I got a problem,” he revealed to Lowdown. “She’s 15 and beautiful. … The way she runs around during the day is perfect. … But when you put stage makeup on these young kids, she’s perceived as being older, so we have these 22-year-old guys calling.”

Hogan gruffly rejects the maxim of one-time wrestling manager Cyndi Lauper, the Reagan-era pop star who sang “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”

“I tell them, ‘She’s not old enough to date yet,’” Hogan said, getting irate even at the thought.

“Yes, you’re 22, yes, you have a nice Corvette, but she’s 15! There’s nothing to talk about!”

He added: “She’ll be old enough to date when she’s 35.”

Hogan plans to be his daughter’s full-time handler, in the firm belief that she’s destined for stardom.

“When you see her on that stage,” the proud dad said, “I’ve never seen anybody that steps up to the plate like my daughter.”

Today’s edition of the St. Petersburg Times has an article about a group of young filmmakers who are wrapping up a movie project in the Tampa Bay area. Nick Bollea, Hulk Hogan’s 13 year-old son, is one of the stars in the film. Nick has appeared a couple times on WCW when Hogan was wrestling there and his sister Brooke is now establishing her self in the music industry.

As of right now there is absolutely no talk going around concerning Hulk Hogan returning to WWE anytime in the near future. The latest Hogan news is that he hosted a favorite videos show on VH1 last night, playing his favorites from Van Halen, Guns 'n' Roses, and more.
